Mitch has come into his own this year: being chosen as the 2017 Canada West player of the year, first team Canada West and USPORTS first team All Canadian. He led the league in scoring (17 points), assists (10) and was tied for third in goals (7) while appearing in all 15 league matches. He is one of the team captains again this year. Mitch transferred from UBC three years ago and spent a year red shirting. He started all 16 of the WolfPack’s matches last season and has started 26 of the teams last 28 over the last two years. He scored twice and had five assists last year along with 41 shots on goal. That was the third highest point total on the team. He was named the 2017 Kamloops Sports Council University Athlete of the Year. While with UBC (2013), he helped them win a national championship. Mitch also won a silver medal growing up at the Canada Summer Games with Team BC. He spent this past summer playing in the PDL with the TSS Rovers. It was his second season of PDL after playing in Victoria in 2016. His fondest sports moment was scoring against Team Ontario in the semifinals of the Canada Games, it was his 18th birthday. Mitch’s greatest team moment as a member of the WolfPack has come the last three years when they have beaten UVIC all at Hillside Stadium.
