Malik committed to the WolfPack in May, 2016 after coming to Kamloops to play in a weekend tournament with many other current TRU players.
He was a CCBC 2nd team all-star in his rookie season and appeared in 27 games hitting .329.
He had 82 plate appearances scoring 12 runs, notching 27 hits including six doubles and a triple, 11 RBI and two stolen bases.
Malik played the previous two seasons (2015, 2016) for the Ontario Yankees and plays both second and third base.
He was a high school all-star in his first year and won the “Most Significant Contribution” Award
in his freshman year of high school as well. He was a Tournament 12 winner in his sophomore year and won
the Ontario high school baseball title in his first year.
His greatest sports moment came last season with the WolfPack when he hit two homers in one game.
The most influential person in his life is his father Garnett who instilled great values and morals in him
as well as teaching him what is truly important in life. Malik likes hip hop and rap and his favourite movie is Space Jam.
One thing his teammates don’t know about Malik is that he plays the guitar. If he were a super hero, Malik would be “Mega Chicken.”
His go-to song at Karaoke would be “Bartender” by T-Pain. Malik’s favourite colour is red.
His fondest sports moment is hitting his first ever home run in 2009 at age 11. His favourite visiting field is Elks Stadium in Kelowna.
His greatest moment as a member of the WolfPack was finishing second at the CCBC championships in 2017.
